Hello, I'm Garima Srivastava, an artist, surface designer, art educator and author of the book “Watercolor in Ten Minutes a Day” based in The Netherlands. My passion lies in painting and creating vibrant designs tailored for fabric, stationery, and home decor products.

Having been born and raised in India, the warmth of the sun, the vivid colors, and the abundance of patterns have not only left lasting memories but also run through my veins.

Residing just outside bustling Amsterdam with my husband and daughter, I immerse myself in daily painting in my home studio. Motherhood not only transformed my artistic approach but also heightened my commitment to daily art practice.

I paint mostly with wet art media like watercolors, ink and gouache but also love playing with textures of pastel and pencil colors.

Apart from painting and lettering, I love sketching and often many of my design ideas start with sketches from my daily art practice that I draw either in my sketchbooks or on loose sheets of paper.

My design process begins with inspiration gathering and hand-drawn sketches, evolving into hand-painted design elements.

Further refinement takes place on my iPad or computer using programs such as Photoshop and Procreate.

In addition to surface designing and following my personal creative routine, I enjoy imparting knowledge to fellow artists.

As one of the Top Teachers on Skillshare, an online learning platform, my classes emphasize creating art that is both beautiful and approachable.

I’m excited to share that my debut book “Watercolor in Ten Minutes a Day” being published by Page Street Publishing is coming out in August 2024. With this book I get to inspire readers to learn watercolors while painting something small every day.
